Cookie cookie

Thought it would be fun to have an interview with Mr. Cookie Monster. Who knows cookies better than the man opps i mean monster himself.

ME: Hi Mr. cookie, how are you?

Cookie: Munch munch I am doing great

Me: Good, I know you looove cookies can you share with us your favourite places to get delicious cookies?

Cookie: Mmmm munch I'll be happy to. One of my favourite places is Famous Amos. Their cookies are crunchy and they offer a wide variety cookies. I love the no nut chocolate chip Munch... what about you mademoiselle manman have you tried famous amous before?

Me: yes of cause, but I prefer the butterscotch and peacan. Hmmm...It is bitesized, really crunchy. However, their cookies are rather expensive. Like $5 plus for a 100g.

Cookie: Munch... yes I agree it is too expensive for me, since I eat soooo many cookies a day. So, what is one of your favuorite places to get munch... cookies?

Me: Subway( the sandwish shop) They sell tasty cookies, but their cookies are the exact opposite from Famous Amos, instead of being real crunchy and bite-sized, their cookies are soft and chewy and the size of my palm. I always get the chocolate chip and white chocolate flavour. And they are more affordable then Famous Amos, you should try it as soon as possible.

Cookie: Munch... sounds good, I love cookies, okay I will go down to a subway outlet for some cookies as soon as possible thanks for the recommendation.

Me: No problem, Thank you for your time Mr. Cookie.

Cookie: Not a problem, oops, I've run out of cookies, got to go get some now bye!

Durian Galore!

Hail to the king of fruits. Durians, one of my favorite fruits amoung many others hehe. Here I'll introduce some of my favourite durian treats :)

Number 1 on the list: Puteri Mas Durian Puffs

Where?: Open daily. 475 Joo Chiat Road. Tel: 6344 8629

What makes their durian puffs irresitable? They cram a whole big scoop of real good quality durian. They are I must say the best durian puffs I have eaten. You have to go grab some NOW!

Like some say: "Die die must try"

Number 2 durian treat: Durian smoothie found at A1 Chendol

Where?: Found at Tampines St 82, across Temasek Polytechnic

The durain smoothie is just a wonderful treat for anyday. They cramm into the cup 2 to 3 huge tablespoons of real durian topped with a generous helping of durian ice-cream, blended up, and ta ta one durian smoothie! It is best drank right away. The owners of the shop are really nice people, who when the shop is not too busy will strike conversations with their customers. Heard that peope all the way from woodlands drive down for a durian smoothie.

They also serve many other drinks, from the normal array of bubble tea, to a wide range of coffee and chocolate blens to smoothies like durian, yam, mango, mixed fruits etc. o and of cause chendol. wow the red beans on the chendol are huge.

Number 3 goes to: Scoopz an ice-cream shop

Where?: Parkway Parade#B1-154

The ice-cream is hand made on freezing pans. The flipping and massaging of the mixture results in ice cream that is dense and smooth. The durian ice-cream is good. There is a rich durian taste, not like those artifical flavours. Try it I doubt you will regreat it.

NOT!!!!

Dino Cake House & Cafe

I saw a eating programme on channel 5, I think it was coffeetalks and hawker woks the show hosted by Fiona Xie. Fiona Xie and her guest star, can't remember who it was, where happily chowing down on a durian well. It is a sponge cake with a whole in the center(like a well) filled with durian. After watching the show, I had to get my hands on a durian well, and finally did. Guess what: bleach! Not good at all! The durian inside the "well" tasted artifical, I think they used some durian mix or something, tasted like durian flavoured cream. Not going there again!.

I'll Never get sick of...

Brownies!!!
Brownies make my day any day, love them, love them, loove them :)
Drum roll please....Boom! Boom! Boom! Coming in First!

MRS. FIELDS

I adore Mrs Fields brownies, they are moist, and filled with chocolate, and melts in your mouth.(Literally) Mmmmm Im salivating just thinking about it. Mrs. Fields sells muffins and cookies becides brownies, but I have not gotten to try them yet, as I'll have spent all my money$ on the brownies.

My favourites ones are the double chocolate chip, and the triple chocolate chip, all oozing with goodness. Yummy!

There are a few Mrs. Fields in Singapore, Raffles City, somewhere near CK Tang, not too sure of where the outlets are. If you visit their website: http://www.mrsfields.com/ they have many great gift ideas you can pick up.

Coming up in second place: http://www.cakesinbloom.com/

Their American crewy fudge brownies is quite nice, and worth trying, however it is not as moist as Mrs. Fields brownies but they are nice and chewy. The downside to it is that it is quite expensive. $40 for a tray,(8 pieces). Cash on delivery. They are nice, but I doubt I'll buy them again because of the price, I'll rather splurge $40 on Mrs. Fields!

A cheaper alternative to buying brownies is making your own. But making one from scratch is quite difficult, takes a lot of work, and might not turn out the way you want it to, thats why we have Betty CrockerBrownie Mix!(though i know some people may not believe in using instant mix, but trust me this one is good) Its easy, fast and o so yummy! But the sad thing is I don't have an oven at home! Sobs O well so for all those out there with an oven do try Betty Crocker Brownie Mix!

Chocolate Cake!!!!!!!!!

I love Chocolate cake, and here are my top 2 favourite places great chocolate cake. Yummy.
(will be adding no. 3 soon)

In first place: Choc a block

Where?: choc.a.bloc, Block 86, 01-179
Bedok North Street 4.
Call 6446-6096 to order, preferably three days in advance.
Opening hours: Wednesdays to Saturdays - 10am to 2pm, 6
to 8.30pm. Sundays - 10am to 2pm. Closed Mondays
and Tuesdays

I Love the Banana choco fudge. Fresh sliced bananas are placed between two layers of chocolate sponge, and the cake is covered in a thick layer of chocolate fudge. ( I'm drooling already)
For those who like not-too-bitter chocolate, light and fluffy sponge cake, then this is the place for you :P

Following behind: "Mirama?"
Opps I'm so sorry, I don't know the actual name for the shop.

Where?: Behind Eastpoint mall, along a row of shops and coffeshops.
East Point Mall Address: 3 Simei St 6, #01-32, East Point Mall,
S(528833)

Although, I doubt anyone has heard of this shop, maybe expect for those who live in the area. It's like those ordinary bakerys that can be found in most neighbourhoods, but this one is an exception, as they bake good chocolate cakes. They are sold in slices (not sure if they come in a whole) The great thing about this is there are three thick layers of fudge. Mmmmm... and the fuge is somewhat rich and the sponge cake is rather moist.
As this is a neighbourhood bakery, the price is affordable. It's good for ordinary days when you just crave for some chocolate cake.

Not!!!!!!!!
Awfully Chocolate

I've read rave reviews on this chain of chocolate cake shops. Howevevr, having tried it, I was really dissapointed. Though they used dark chocolate which is my favourite type, the chocolate layers was as thin as a piece of paper. The cake was a bit too heavy for me, and got a bit sick after eating 2 slices. There was nothing special about it, it was just an ordinary, okay chocolate cake. Won't be patronizing the stall in the near future.
